Our GESS Alumni Family is growing steadily and we love sharing their stories. This month, one of our younger Alumni tells us about his time at GESS. Ignacio and his family had to leave GESS and Singapore last school year to return to Spain, but Ignacio has very fond memories of his three years at GESS.
How long were you at GESS?
I was a student at GESS for 3 years, from Grade 4 to Grade 6. I started at GESS in 2020.
What was the most exciting project you worked on during your time at GESS?
The most exciting project I worked on was probably Session Musicians, performing and getting on stage was probably the best thing that ever happened to me. I want to give special thanks to Mr. Jacek Dubiel, for teaching me how to do what I most like.
What was your favourite subject?
My favorite subject was probably language, or French. Why? Well let me explain, back here in Spain, in grade 3, I started with French. And due to moving to Singapore, I missed a lot of classes. So being in a French class helped me catch up.
What do you miss most about GESS?
I miss everyone and everything about GESS. Teachers, students and everything on campus. But what I miss the most, is where I started, the auditorium where I gave my first performance.
What did you enjoy doing back at GESS?
I enjoyed playing music with my band and playing with my friends. I just liked moving around the school. There are places I haven’t gone to but wish that someday, I’m able to.
That would be all from me. I thank all people that supported me during my hard times and good times. I loved being a student at GESS.
